A law was introduced to ensure that Ci-Net provides the necessary data
protection for customers whose data is retained by Ci-Net. Each and every
customer must approve for Ci-Net to provide the information to the
institution where the credit application is being made.
There are rules which are applied to any institution who subscribe to Ci-Net
in respect of the provision of data. All lenders must use the same
definition and measurement of delinquency in order for the submitted data
to be consistent with the agreed standard. The level of the delinquency
and the status registered will show the severity and the decency of the
delinquency status.
By consolidating the data, rules of lending as dictated by the Central
Bank and Ministry of Commerce will trigger a Warning to the Member making
an enquiry if any or all of the rules are exceeded. The exceeding of these
rules may already be in existence prior to the enquiry or, be triggered by
the extent of the current credit application.
These terms are parameterized therefore if there are any changes to the
rules they can be instantly implemented upon request from the Central Bank
of Kuwait and /or the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Ci-Net only provides the information to the lenders and does not make
lending decisions.
