Several factors influence your credit score. Below are the key elements to consider:

  • Age of Credit: The length of historical data available for borrower as reported by the data providers.
  • Credit at Risk: Refers to any failure to repay loans or meet contractual obligations. Defaults or missed payments can significantly harm your credit score.
  • Credit Utilization: The total amount of credit you're using compared to the available credit you have. Keeping your usage below a certain threshold is generally recommended to maintain a good score.
  • Default Payments: A record of missed payments or loans in default. This reflects the instances where you’ve failed to meet your payment obligations, and it can negatively impact your score.
  • Payment Capacity: This refers to the percentage of payments made compared to the granted amount. A higher payment capacity typically indicates better financial management and positively influences your credit score.
  • Payment History Behavior: Paying installments on time is crucial for maintaining a good credit score, and delays in payments negatively affect your credit profile.
  • Credit Mix: Set of indicators representing the combination of credit facilities availed by the borrower, including the number of facilities, types of facilities, status of the facilities, and reasons for closure.

Credit Scoring is a digital index based on statistical principles, specifically developed to align with the data and trends of the Kuwaiti credit market, in accordance with international best practices and standards. This index provides a summary of the customer’s entire credit history and is calculated using advanced mathematical and statistical methods, reflecting the rating score linked to the customer's ability to meet future financial obligations.

The Credit Scoring (digital assessment) is calculated based on information provided by data and information providers, including but not limited to the customer's payment history, outstanding obligations, credit history duration, credit inquiries, types of credit facilities used, and past financial status. The credit rating is dynamic and continuously updates based on the customer's credit behavior and adherence to timely obligation settlements.
