What is a Kuwait Credit information network company?

Ci-Net includes a database that collects credit information for individuals and companies in all its legal forms operating in the State of Kuwait. Ci-Net uses the latest information technologies to provide the financial, banking and commercial sectors in the State of Kuwait with accurate and immediate credit data and information that include clear indicators about customers who wish to borrow or obtain any credit facilities.

What is a credit information report (credit report)?

It is a report that contains detailed information on all consumer and housing loans, credit cards and other credit facilities resulting from the retail sale of goods and services as well as commercial facilities. The report also includes information about the borrowing customer’s inquiry. The credit report includes positive and negative information and data related to the credit status of customers as well as indicators of digital credit rating.

Where does the credit information of "individuals" or "companies" come from?

There are many sources of data and information that provide credit information on customers such as banks, investment companies, finance companies and other commercial institutions that grant credit facilities by selling in any form of transferring goods and services ownership in installments, in addition to any other entities that have credit information or data related to the way customers fulfill their obligations. Such information and data are updated regularly in accordance with the company's established rules in this regard.

What is a Credit Rating (Digital Rating)?

Credit rating is a digital index that follows statistical principles developed specifically to match the data and pattern of the Kuwaiti credit market, according to best international practices and specifications. This index summarizes the entire credit history of the customer whereby it is calculated using advanced mathematical and statistical methods. This reflects the rating score associated with the customer's settlement of its future obligations.

How is the Credit Rating Calculated?

The credit rating (digital assessment) is calculated using the information provided by data and information providers, including, but not limited to (the previous payments pattern - the due obligations - the credit history period - the credit inquiry - the types of credit facilities used - the customer's previous status statement, etc. The customer's credit assessment is constantly changing based on its credit behavior and the extent of its commitment to settle its due obligations within the specified periods. Any failure or delay in the settlement of financial obligations on time, failure to settle financial obligations in full, using the maximum limit of credit cards, or obtaining any additional credit facilities shall affect the customer's credit rating.

What are the procedures for obtaining a credit information report for individuals?

Individual customers can obtain their credit report easily and at any time through one of the following methods:

  • Visit the headquarters of Ci-Net and request a credit report (the customer's self inquiry).
  • Apply to the banks that the customer deals with in terms of credit facilities, and request to obtain a credit report.
  • Visit the company's website “www.cinet.com.kw” and follow the subscription and registration procedures.
  • Download the “Ci-Net Kuwait Credit Bureau” application on your smart phone available at Apple store, Google Play store and Android store.
  • Pay the fees payable to Ci-Net headquarters.

 

What are the procedures for obtaining a credit information report for corporate customers?

Corporate customers can obtain their credit report easily and at any time through one of the following methods:

  • Visit the headquarters of Ci-Net and request a credit report (the customer's self inquiry).
  • Apply to the banks that the customer deals with in terms of credit facilities, and request to obtain a credit report.
  • Visit the company's website “www.cinet.com.kw” and follow the subscription and registration procedures.
  • Download the “Ci-Net Kuwait Credit Bureau” application on your smart phone available at Apple store, Google Play store and Android store.
  • In all cases, to obtain the credit information report for corporate clients, Ci-Net must be provided with a copy of the following documents:
  • Issuing an official letter on the official publications of the client who wishes to inquire about commercial credit facilities, according to the attached form (click here to view the form of the letter). The letter shall be attached with the signature of one of the customer's authorized representatives, based on its capacity and the official stamp of the customer.
  • A copy of the commercial registration.
  • A copy of the commercial license.
  • A copy of the Ministry of Trade and Industry's certificate for the names of authorized signatories on behalf of shareholding companies (Chairman of the Board of Directors, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors or CEO).
  • A copy of the approval of the authorized signatories' signatures for shareholding companies (Chairman of the Board of Directors - Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors or CEO).
  • A copy of the commercial registration notation or the Articles of Association, which includes the Article on the management of the persons companies (the general manager or the legal representative by virtue of the Articles of Association or notation in the commercial register).
  • A copy of the approval of the authorized signatories for the persons companies (the general manager or the legal representative).
  • A copy of the civil ID of the authorized signatory for the company requesting the inquiry.
  • A copy of the civil ID of the person authorized to receive the credit report.
  • Pay the fees payable to Ci-Net headquarters.
